Christmas is On Now!

This year it has been hard to get into the Christmas spirit because I have not had too much time to get my house ready for the season. Especially with the new house and not having too many things of my own to have has been hard to decorate. One thing change my mood of getting things changed in my house. While I was driving my daughter to school on the radio it was a Christmas song of Josh Groban song O Holy Night. Just hearing him and remembering what a nice feeling that the meaning of Christmas brings everyone in my family. This week I am going to get my house in the spirit of Christmasand how to get into my family into what it represents the true meaning of this grant festivity. This is one of those song of O Holy Night that can get anyone in the season no matter what crisis a person is going thru. Especially now that this quarter is now done with and I don’t have to worry about any homework or projects that need to be turned in. Trying to get more of the shopping done and trying to find all of those bargains that are out thier just wanting to be found. Well, I hope that everyone gets to hear this song and they will also get into the Chirstmass spirit as well as I did.

Cleaning my house

Cleaning my house with vinegar and water has been a big help this month. It started with a class project but ended up being something that has been in craved in me now. It has also been a money saver because now I don’t have to buy four  products to get my house clean. Just with one product I can clean most of my house with only one bottle. One bottle can save me almost $15 dollars and that money is well welcomed right now in these time of need. It was fun doing a YouTube video about my project and to be able to show others how I was able to clean without using many products. So this only didn’t  get me a good grade for one class but it also helped me for another one of my class project. Cleaning with one bottle can also help out with my children’s health and the environment. I hope that everyone can watch my video and learn from it and not too much at me. Well, getting this video out  their was scary and weired to think that others can see me.

Finals Time

As it becomes closer to the end of another quarter the stress starts to build up as well. With all the work to be turn in and with children and life to worry about you just can’t find the time in a day to get every thing done. Especial this week when your baby-sitter is out of town and you need them more than ever, but I am so happy that they got to get away. I just want to get thru this last few days and get that feeling when you have finally got thru another of your classes. Being able to check off the class and see that you are just that much closer of reaching your goal is what makes you push your self. Well I just want to get it done and enjoy my few weeks of break to be able to return and start all over again with the next quarter. Keeping organized and writting everything I need to get done on a list helps me see and have it written down so that I know I wouldn’t forget. When I get things done I can mark them off and see just how much I have gotten done with. Well, I hope that all this work gets me to reach my goals and gets me good grades that I want.=)

Jenny’s Story Time

Hi I have been working on my Story Time for a while now and today I am happily able to say that I have finally finish it! It was very hard at first to think that I would be able to get it done but once I started to play with the idea it became very excited to think of the endless options out their. Yes, I did it just because it was part of my school work, but it was still fun to get it done and to learn all about the fun world of pod-cast. This is a tool that could be used with plenty of ways to help out and to bring families together. Just to know that now if I am not around for my children they could go back and hear me read to them one of their favorite books (which all three enjoy) and still hear my voice. Hearing my voice played back was weired at first but I had to hear it play back so many times that I just got used to hearing it and I think that I will do this again with other books. It would be interesting to see what my kids could come up with if they get an chance to create their own pod-cast. I think I just got a new activity to do as a family.

Getting Ready for the Holidays

With the holidays just here and all the things that need to get done and with no money to get all the things. It’s just hard to try to figure out ways to still make this holidays as special as other years. I have had to sit down and really plan how we are going to spend our holiday money to stretch it out to be able to make it without staying broke for the entire month. I still want to enjoy our families traditions and be able to go visit our relatives as with every other year. The only good things about the economy right now is the price of gas going down and still going down as I type. I just want to teach my children that we are still able to enjoy our holidays tradition even thought they might not be as many gifts under the tree (if we even get one) but to know that with just one or two toys they could still have fun. I will try to make it up to them my giving them lots of activities that we can do together and spend more time in the kitchen making bake goods for our family and friends. Well I hope that everyone finds ways to still make these holidays special and fun. “The first-grade class performed a Nativity play shortly before Christmas. Keeping Family Close

Just hard to try not get sad when you have not been able to see your mom and dad for almost two months. Even when you think that you are a grown up and you have your own family you still need your other family. It was hard this week not to be able to go to my parents home now that they were finally back from thier two months vacation. I really wanted to go over but with the fires it was hard to go, on the always ‘friendly’ 91 freeway. Even my sister Sara was at my parents home and I really enjoy going over to see her as well, especially because its hard to see her often. I guess I am going to have to wait another week or maybe until Thanksgiving week but I hope that they all can come to my home to finally be able to celebrate a holiday at my OWN home. Guess you have to have your family way to be able to appreciate how luck people are that they can just drive a few minutes and be able to see thier family. Well I hope to be able to see everyone soon and get to spend much laughs and stories together. Love always!

Frida Kahlo

Hi just wanted to share with everyone a biography a saw on television that have me great pride to know that she is also Hispanic like me. When I was growing up she really got my attention because of her courage to be herself. It’s Frida Kahlo a woman that was well beyond her period because she was able to stand up for herself as a women when most women where looked down. She was a great fighter for women rights and was not afraid to speak up no matter who it was. Frida had to over come many accidents in her life as when she was only six years and had a poliomyelitis which caused her to have her right leg with a slight limp. Then in  1926 Frida had a terrible accident when going to school which broke her spine in three parts and caused her to stay in bed many months but the worst was that this caused her reproductive organs to be damaged. In 1927 she met Diego Rivera while he was working on ‘La Creacion’ and she shown him her work and he was interested in her work. They started to spend time together and with in two years they were married. Diego and Frida went to the United States where he was hired to paint and she was able to meet many important people and continued her for in New York. She tried to get pregnant but was not able to and many of those pregnancy almost caused her life. She went into many depression and painting was the only way to get her thru it all. Frida was getting know for her self portrait because for the time period it was not normal for anyone to draw them self and especially the anatomy of the person. Frida’s painting was her way to express herself and let out all the frustration she had with life and with Diego. She was becoming know in the artist circle because of her painting which were not in norm of the time with showing with great detail the way she was hurting inside as with the painting when she was having an abortion because her child had died inside of her and this almost killed her not just physically but also emotionally.  Frida Kahlo is a Mexican woman which everyone should be aware of because of her great talent and her bravery to overcome all the obstacles in life.

Saturday of culture

We had a wonderful time on Saturday October 11, 2008 at downtown Riverside at the Village Festival. It was the perfect time and the weather could not be any better. Most of my nieces were thier to have fun and get to enjoy a nice day of cultures. We were able to learn about many different cultures. They had many different performances from South Africa, Puerto Rico, China, Mexico and India to name a few.  The food tasting was also very interesting to know how diverse we go about to use the same food but make it our own.  The kids enjoyed making crafts from all the different cultures and they got to learn facts about cultures. I hope that we can all get together again next year and teach our children of other cultures.

Brenda’s Wedding

Hi everyone I hope that you enjoyed your self as much as we all did in this special event in our family. We are so glad that it’s finally over and that now we can welcome a new member of the family. The food was great and the music just made the night even better because it had something for everyone. I just hope that we can all gather again to celebrate their 25 Anniversary. It was worth all the time and effort because it came out beautiful!!
